What is a hernia?
A hernia is a lump which occurs when part of the bowel or other abdominal tissue protrudes through an area of weakness in the wall of the abdomen. When this occurs in the groin area it is either an ‘inguinal’ hernia or a ‘femoral’ hernia but hernias can also occur at or near the umbilicus and in old abdominal scars. We repair all types of abdominal hernia at the London Day Surgery except hiatus hernia which is an internal hernia.

Varicose veins are swollen veins (usually on the legs) that look lumpy and bluish through the skin. They occur when the valves in the veins become weak, allowing blood to collect in the leg veins instead of travelling back to the heart. At the London Day Surgery we offer a number of options for removing varicose veins in legs and restoring a smoother appearance to your legs.
What are Dental Implants ?
Dental Implants are small, tissue-compatible titanium fixtures, which are inserted into the jawbone. After a period of natural bonding, the implants serve as the ‘root’ anchor for new superstructure crowns bridges or dentures.
Aetiology
The major cause of gingivitis is the accumulation of bacteria at the gum line in the form of a sticky, yellowish film which is called dental plaque. If left undisturbed, bacterial plaque calcifies to form dental calculus (tartar).
Hair Removal
Over centuries many Laser Hair removal techniques, including waxing, sugaring, threading, plucking, shaving etc, have been developed to deal with this problem. All of these solutions are short term solutions and many bring with them a range of other problems such as in growing hairs, spots and rashes to name but a few.
IPL and laser hair removal can only be effective during the antigen phase of hair growth. Because of this, repeated treatments are necessary to clear all hair growth.
